I had the privilege of delivering remarks at the United Nations General Assembly Hall during the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Montessori Model United Nations, a milestone event aligned with the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly.
Over the past two decades, Montessori Model UN has empowered young delegates worldwide to engage meaningfully with global challenges, reminding us that the next generation of leaders is already thinking critically about peace, climate resilience, and equitable access to essential resources.
Water and sanitation remain fundamental to human dignity, public health, gender equality, and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6. Through initiatives like MUNWSE, we are helping bridge education and policy by equipping young leaders with the tools to understand water diplomacy, cross-border collaboration, and the responsibility of building a more sustainable and inclusive world.
It was an honour to share the stage with distinguished global leaders, educators, and young changemakers whose passion reaffirmed why investing in youth engagement is essential for the future of multilateralism. Grateful to the organizers, fellow speakers, and the inspiring students who continue to remind us that leadership begins long before titles, it begins with curiosity, courage, and purpose.
